Dougie Hill appreciation!
At our Freight Safe Programme Steering Group meeting we presented Dougie Hill with a token of our appreciation for all the work he has done for the Freight Safe Programme in his role as Chair of the National Freight Safety Group.
Dougie stood down as Chair of the NFSG in January after seven years in the role.
Geoff Spencer, Chair of the Freight Safe Programme Steering Group, said:
“Dougie has transformed the NFSG and put his heart and soul into it over the last seven years.
“He was also here when we set up the Freight Safe Programme and he has been a real help to me and my colleagues on the steering group. I would like to thank him very much for his support in all that we have done as a team to make rail freight even safer.“
Dougie added:
“Thank you to everyone for your help over the years. I’ve really enjoyed being part of the Freight Safe Programme and I have lots of fond memories.
“My role as Professional Head of Freight Safety at RSSB keeps me very much involved in freight activities and I look forward to supporting the new Chair of NFSG when they are appointed, freight groups and the sector as we continue with our work facilitating continuous improvement of health, safety and well-being in rail freight.”
